		La famille d’Anselme Comeau Anselme Comeau’s family On peut se demander pourquoi le photographe a choisi cet endroit pour réunir Anselme Comeau et sa famille de Church Point alors que ce coin de la maison nécessite encore un petit coup de pinceau. Par ailleurs, le bambin qui tient la jupe de sa mère a sans doute bougé durant la prise de la photographie! Anselme Comeau lived in Church Point, Nova Scotia, with his wife, daughters, and relatives. To the right of the picture, look at the child out of focus standing besides his mother. He is that way because he moved when the photographer took this picture. 		La famille de Charles Nelson Charles Nelson’s family Né à St-Denis le 18 mai 1836, Charles Nelson était le fils de Wolfred Nelson, médecin et héros de la bataille des Patriotes en 1837. Charles a épousé Marie Elmire Virginie Leclerc, fille de Pierre-Édouard, en 1863 à St-Hyacinthe. Ils sont photographiés ici avec leurs deux derniers enfants : leur fils Henry, né en 1874, et leur fille Grace, née en 1875. On disait d’Elmire, qui avait vécu en Angleterre quelques années, qu’elle ressemblait étrangement à la Reine Victoria. Charles Nelson was the son of Wolfred Nelson, the hero of the St-Denis Battle of 1837. Charles married Marie Elmire Virginie Leclerc in 1863. They had eight children, but their first one died at birth, and two others died within a few days or months of their births. Here are Marie Elmire Virginie, Charles, their son Henry, and their daughter Grace. Isn’t there a striking resemblance between Marie Elmire Virginie and Queen Victoria? 		La famille de Joseph Henry Meyers Joseph Henry Meyers’s family Né aux États-Unis d’immigrants allemands, Joseph Henry Meyers grandit à Trois-Rivières où il épousa Georgiana Courteau, en 1914. Après avoir exercé le métier de gantier, Joseph Henry Meyers fut aussi électricien pour la Compagnie Internationale de Papier (C.I.P.). Pour sa part, Georgiana Courteau a été gantière pour la Balcer Gloves jusqu'à son mariage. Ils sont photographiés ici avec leur fils Georges et leur fille Annette. Joseph Henry Meyers’s father and mother immigrated into the United States of America from Germany. Although his entire family stayed there, Joseph Henry Meyers moved to Trois-Rivières when he was still a child. He got married to Georgiana Courteau in this city in 1914. 		Familles Sicard de Carufel et Panneton Sicard de Carufel and Panneton families L’abbé Josaphat Cossette a pris cette photographie des familles Panneton et Sicard de Carufel devant le presbytère de Yamachiche, où il était vicaire. Joseph-Arthur Panneton est accompagné de son épouse Germaine Caron et de ses filles. Louis-Napoléon Sicard de Carufel, quant à lui, pose avec son épouse Marie-Anaïs Caron et leurs deux enfants. 		Lettre à oncle Samuel Dear Uncle Sam Le jeune Fernand Bédard écrit à son oncle Samuel pour lui donner de ses nouvelles. Il lui dit entre autres qu’il va toujours à la classe et qu’il a «monté d’une division». C’est dans la maison de Samuel Bédard à Péribonka que fut hébergé Louis Hémon, l’auteur d’origine européenne à qui l’on doit l’ouvrage : Maria Chapdelaine. Fernand Bédard from St-Basile wrote this brief letter to his Aunt Laura Bouchard and Uncle Samuel Bédard who lived in Péribonka. Even though it is short, he managed to write a few words about school.
